Who we are...
...ordinary people working for a cure for Parkinson's Disease.
In a nutshell, that's what Team Fox and the New York Young Professionals are all about.

Team Fox is a part of the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Started in January 2006, Team Fox provides guidance and support to volunteers around the world who find uniquely creative and fun ways to raise funds for Parkinson's Disease (PD) research. Team Fox fundraisers take the form of walkathons, marathons, bake sales, movie screenings, craft sales, and well, basically any form imaginable! Volunteers organize their own events and the donations they raise support Parkinson's research funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

The Team Fox NYYP are a group of people in NYC who have come together to organize fundraising events that are larger than they could coordinate on their own. Most of the members are in their 20's and 30's, but all are somehow affected by Parkinson's Disease (PD).  They may have a family member or loved one with PD, a friend of someone who is affected by PD, or they may have PD themselves. They all are seeking a cure!

  • As many as one million Americans live with Parkinson's disease, which is more than the combined number of people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and Lou Gehrig's disease.
  • Approximately 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson's disease each year, and this number does not reflect the thousands of cases that go undetected.
  • An estimated seven to 10 million people worldwide are living with Parkinson's disease.
